At Red Dirt Vagabond, we’d like to encourage people to Slow Down, Look Around and Explore the Natural, Historical and Cultural Beauty of Middle Georgia. Middle Georgia is not just a part of the state that you should breeze through on I 75. There are so many natural places to explore, from hiking trails, to rivers and lakes. Also, we have many historic sites, museums and interesting small towns full of history. Middle Georgia was the birthplace or stepping off point for many artists and musical talents such as Little Richard, Otis Redding, Chuck Leavell, James Brown, the Allman Brothers, Jason Aldean and many others. As well as musicians, we have had several famous authors and poets who called Middle Georgia home. Authors like Flannery O’Connor, Sidney Lanier, Joel Chandler Harris, Alice Walker and Agnes Cochran Bramblett. Many talented artists still showcase their work in and around Macon. We have so much to see and so much to offer. Get off the interstate and come see us.
